Can you regress? I regressed this morning for around an hour and went back to 1890 Victorian England and was?
surprised at the smells and bad food. Walking along The Strand and talking to a couple of people was very curious and I had trouble making myself understood. One person thought I was American and yet I am a born cockney. Crossing the road was a nightmare. I had to return because of the smell but I shall go back. Have you been back to that time?
By 1890 the sewers had been built* and Central London was a nice place to be with excellent, fresh produce and good meats. Flower sellers were on every corner and trade was good. The Strand was full of horse-drawn traffic and the theatre lights burned brightly in the evening air.
You may have gone back before Bazalgette's wonderful work.
